The GLG Institutional Registry is a tool for institutions to manage the participation of their employees, agents, contractors, and consultants in consulting opportunities offered through GLG CouncilsSM.
Through the GLG Institutional Registry, organizations set preferences and guidelines as to how employees and consultants participate in outside consulting projects with leading financial services firms, consultancies, law firms, corporations and not-for-profit institutions.
Hundreds of company policies are implemented through the GLG Institutional Registry.
GLG believes that decision makers can make better, more confident decisions by tapping a diverse network of experts. GLG Councils are comprised of tens of thousands of experts with varying real-world knowledge and perspectives that can help educate GLG clients. These experts, and their employers, can benefit from participating in educational interactions with thoughtful industry leaders, such as those offered by the GLG Councils. However, the value of tapping this expertise must be tempered by an awareness of its limitations. All knowledge-providers have important obligations that shape, constrain, and often prohibit a particular knowledge exchange. The GLG Institutional Registry helps employers and other institutions communicate and implement such obligations. By involving these stakeholders, the GLG Institutional Registry helps experts honor their obligations to stakeholders and helps clients participate in appropriate and productive engagements.
GLG will disclose registered policies to GLG Council Members and will exclude from all consulting opportunities any individual whose employer has registered a policy prohibiting outside consulting.
