Consulting Through GLG

Gerson Lehrman Group provides clients with access to experts across eight distinct industry-specific Councils. Within the Councils, professionals from every sub-sector, global region, and level of professional experience are able to exchange opinions, ideas and best practices. This breadth of expertise enables GLG to connect its clients to appropriate educational resources on any subject.

Process Overview
  1. Experts apply to or are recruited to the GLG Councils based on specific industry knowledge. Applicants choose an hourly consulting rate and provide their professional profile. Approved Council Members receive access to the GLG Councils website to begin participating in consulting projects. Council Members who meet the requirements of GLG Member Programs received additional benefits and eligibility for more in-depth and frequent consulting opportunities.
  2. Clients contact GLG for assistance with a specific project. Clients send inquiries to Gerson Lehrman Group requesting information about industry trends, particular products and services, or other important developments.
  3. GLG invites Council Members to participate. Based on information provided in their profiles, Council Members may be invited by email to participate in a telephone consultation, online survey, written or in-person meeting with a client. GLG Member Programs participants will be eligible for more frequent discussions with GLG clients and for in-depth and longer-term projects with GLG clients.
  4. Qualified Council Members accept the invitation to participate. Project invitations may be accepted or declined for any reason. Members are reminded in each invitation of any project guidelines or limitations as determined by the GLG Institutional Registry or other employer preferences. Members and clients arrange a time for their telephone consultation, surveys are conducted online, or GLG assists in the logistics of an in-person meeting. Most projects are conducted within a week or two of invitation.
  5. Participating Council Members are promptly paid for their time. Payment for participation can be sent to an individual Member or their employer for all projects or on a per project basis.
