QA Engineer II

The QA Engineer will report directly to the QA Manager. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic, be able to effectively multi-task, and possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to easily and effectively interact with technical, non-technical, support, and business staff at all levels. The QA Engineer will be responsible for testing new product development as well as verifying bug fixes and minor enhancements on our websites and updating the bug-tracking database. The position requires experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The QA Engineer has to understand and be involved in all stages including business requirements, functional specifications, test plan creation, functional and regression testing and user acceptance. Flexibility is key, as the QA Engineer may be pulled into other development projects while still working to keep his/her project on schedule.
Expected Background
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years in technology field with minimum of 3+ years QA testing experience, specifically web testing
- Previous experience in both black and white box testing of web applications a must
- Strong knowledge/understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience analyzing functional specifications and business requirements to come up with QA test plans
- Experience creating defect reports and documenting test results
- Hands-on experience writing SQL queries. Experience using SQL Server 2000 and/or SQL Server 2005.
- Knowledge of application development/build processes and the use of source control systems a defined plus
- Must be able to work independently on assigned projects to produce results under very short deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at the same time
- Must have excellent analytical and thorough problem-solving skills
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
