Bankruptcy Laws apply to companies that have become financially insolvent and need to repay creditors by restituting resources or capital. In the United States, bankruptcy laws vary widely across state lines but are always implemented by U.S. Bankruptcy Courts. The Bankruptcy Code includes the following chapters: Chapter 7 (liquidation), Chapter 11 (restructuring), or Chapter 13 (adjustment of debt with regular income to creditors).
