VEGF Trap could be better than Lucentis or Avastin in that it can neutralize VEGF isoforms that Lucentis or Avastin cannot neutralize.

This study from Italy shows that PDT combined with monthly Lucentis is much more beneficial compared to PDT alone.  Does this data show a role for PDT in the current anti-Vegf era and allow Novartis to still a claim share in this market?

There are not many effective treatment options for macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusions.  This pilot study shows that Lucentis can be effective to improve vision and decrease swelling in retinal vein occlusions; and could be another indication for Lucentis.
