Genentech has it's fingers crossed Re: approval or rejection of Avastin in breast cancer. If rejected it will lose it's compendia listing also adversely effecting insurance reimbursement.

Genentech will have more battles to fight in the future aside from Avastin. This medication appears extremely promising for the treatment of breast cancer, however, physicians are still mixed in their opinions about its place in the treatment of breast cancer.

It appears they finally made an attempt to infer causality from a previous result and determine what, if any, treatment effect was implied. I'm quite happy to see this type of analysis but would want to look at all the details, including the raw data if possible, before drawing too many...
