Analysis of: The Strange Economics of Paid Search Advertising | internet.seekingalpha.com
Advertising in a search engine may be worthless ... but its hard to measure the failure People use search engines for everything ..... I do mean everything Perception sells and there is a perception that i you and i click on the first thing we find in a search engine .. The only people who know the...
Analysis of: Video game expo going babe free | www.cnn.com
The change to E3 has absolutely had an impact on the industry and it is for sure a major change. Change that will require the process to evolve. Some industry endemics love the change, others, not so much. Regardless, the industry is not going to die because of this change.
Analysis of: eBay Takes on Craigslist | www.businessweek.com
There is faulty logic in believing that classified ad users = community. Visitors to a site like Kijiji become more divergent in their interests rather than less. If PayPal is a "drag-along" there's a built-in negative.

Analysis of: eBay Takes on Craigslist | www.businessweek.com
1.  Ebay has a great brand name 2.  As a part owner of Craigslist, they have been able to learn about the business 3.  I am surprised that there has not been a buyout of Craigslist by eBay
Analysis of: eBay Takes on Craigslist | www.businessweek.com
If eBay makes this move then who is to say there is not more to the story. A 25% investment is a pretty good chunk, but more is better. A workable solution will make both parties happy.

Analysis of: eBay Takes on Craigslist | www.businessweek.com
Its important to stay ahead of the competition Its important to know when to move on to new pastures - I applaud eBay for showing the guts to expand its horizons. eBay’s actions make sense but they may cannibalize their core business. Of course if no one knows you own Kijiji, then maybe not.
Analysis of: MySpace, Yahoo, Facebook & Rupert Murdoch | gigaom.com
Facebook brand now is what Yahoo brand was 10 years ago, or what Friendster brand was 3-4 years ago: full of huge potential and of huge risks. Active Social network site users (inc. LinkedIn) average age now is well below 25, hence very fickle. (remember Friendster, AOL?)  Do not rule out large...
Analysis of: LinkedIn marks progress to IPO, hires ex-Tivo CFO | news.yahoo.com
Still early days, many more "new" players can be expected. Use of social networking tools will have same big sociological impact as cell phones, email and internet have had. Young people do not read newspapers, do not use email: they gather information and communicate exclusively via social networks...
Analysis of: MySpaceTV To Compete With YouTube, Facebook Continues Surge | blog.wired.com
As soon as social networking sites become cool, conglomerates, or stakeholders, take control and "corporatize" their strategies.  Instead of building out stems and features that innovate and enhance consumers experiences and behavior they become corporate fodder and feed the laws of diminishing...

Analysis of: MySpaceTV To Compete With YouTube, Facebook Continues Surge | blog.wired.com
It's not about video, it's about the network - social network - and keeping it updated for the users.  Not only is MySpace more cluttered and less user friendly than Facebook, it shouldn't lose focus and try to beat YouTube.
