Data released by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported that crushed stone and sand & gravel (aggregates) volumes declined 13.7% in the first quarter of 2008 compared to the same quarter in 2007. (The report does not include Alaska, Hawaii, Vermont, Maine, Delaware, Rhode Island and North Dakota)....

On May 9th A 10 month mining ban on rock mining in the Lake Belt Region of Dade County Florida was lifted by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta by a vote of 2-1.
