(1) There are only two major suppliers for MOCVD tool for the entire LED chip manufacturing industry and any boom in LED market will put heavy pressure on these two suppliers(2) LED lighting market and LEB backlight for notebook are growing rapidly and to meet this demand a competitor for MOCVD tool needs to be born.(3) Is it time to refresh the rumor of Applied Materials Inc coming in to this game?

As stated in this source article, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Steven Chu announced last week that more than $106 million in stimulus funding is being awarded to nine states for energy efficiency and conservation activities. The advantage of energy efficiency measures is that they are stimulative in rebuilding the U.S economy, as desired, since many pre-existing technologies and products may be administered to generate cost-savings, while leading to immediate job creation in the process.

Xerox's acquisition of ACS really does fit with its vision of owning all aspects of document management.  It is also a much better fit and price than what Dell obtained with Perot Systems.  However, execution is likely to be more difficult, as the ACS business will bring new management challenges associated with a large (and lower end) services business and the synergies are far from assured.

(1) LG Chem is investing a huge amount of $2.5B and this shows the seriousness of their future business in LCD Glass.(2) LG Chem has support form Schott Solar a German Company that has the glass technology from the world famous Schott Glass(3) LG chem is not like any other glass competitor for Corning but a company that belongs to the LG group of companies of which LG display is one and hence a major customer for LCD glass is from within.
