To demand diabetes medications have positive outcomes would be akin to asking for proof that antibiotics save lives or statins lower blood sugars. If this be law, we would have very few drugs and lots of sick patients.

GPL-1 analogs are really good drugs except for significant side effects. Will this drug be better than what we already have? What will be long term adherence?

New black box warning for Avandia makes the warning for CHF risk stronger. The information about an increase in Coronary Ischemia events is not addressed by this change in labeling. Physicians wait for FDA to drop the other shoe.
