Another agent that lowers HBA1C by 0.02% is not a big deal.  There are already too many of these products on the market, none of which do much of anything to improve diabetes care.

A direct comparison between liraglutide and exenatide is the best way to show liraglutide's true benefit as a GLP-1 analogue. Novo Nordisk did just that and the results bode well for liraglutide. Calling a 0.89% improvement "significant" just seems to me to show the weakness of this current trial.  Anyone can use statistics to prove just about anything.  Using verbal manipulation to puff up a study's result is unfair, unreliable and just plain sad.

The therapy of type 2 DM is burdened by the fact that many meds lose efficacy after time and insulin is required. These results  suggest that Exenitide may indeed not lose efficacy .
