The main advantage of this formulation is being once a day, to improve compliance. The standard dose seems to be 775 mg/d for 7 days (compared to 500 tid for 10-days) which also could potentially decrease side effects with a lower dose and shorter duration.

We already have combination meds that include a CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKER and an ACE. Amlodipine is in one of these combination products. Combination therapy is the way to do to get patients to goal with a lower pill burden. Which combo of an ACE or an ARB  with Amlodipine will be better...

This is the second generic version of Fenofexadine(Allegra).  Its presence on the market should result in lower prices for this generic drug. It puts even greater pressure on Zyrtec and Clarinex to maintain market share.

All individuals from 3rd world nations should be screened for communicable diseases upon entry to a developed nation. This may stem the tide of spread in that country. It does not affect the real issue of controlling disease where it originates.
