Since the beginning of the year Agrium Inc.  and CF Industries Holdings  Inc.  have been seeking to make a major acquisition in consolidation effort after drop in sector share prices. This week new offers went out and we might be reaching an end to this round of efforts as the outlook for the sector finally appears to be touching bottom.

The GRAS certification of Monsanto's new omega-3 Soybean Oil is a major step not only for Monanto and their partner on this product, Solae LLC, but a it could also help pave the way to the acceptance of GMO crops around the world. The product still needs to be developed and marketed correctly as it is SDA and not EPA or DHA.

Bunge Ltd , Archer Daniels Midland, Cargill, Nobel Group , Louis Dreyfus, Glencore International and even Gavilon LLC could be interested or already in talks with AWB for a possible acquisition of more then just their Geneva grain trading operations. It would seem logical that someone might be interested in these assets, but who would it be?
