Diuretic Use May be Higher Than People Think | 12-03-2008
Analysis of: The Minimal Impact of a Big Hypertension Study | www.nytimes.com
Author: GLG Expert Contributor

I agree with the premise of the article -- that diuretics may be underutilized as a cheap way to get the benefits of antihypertensives. However, more than 40% of my HTN patients are on diuretics, and I think the data presented in the NY Times article may be flawed. Here's why:

Oral Treprostinil: An effective medicine hiding in a study with a challenging design? | 11-18-2008
Author: Robert Aris, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill - CC

What a bunch of horse crap. | 05-19-2008
Author: GLG Expert Contributor

Study will be ridiculed.   1) Comparator drug is not appropriate. 2) Not an outcomes study. 3) Time frame too short to be clinically significant. 4) Drug too expensive for first line use. 5) Long term safety not established.
