Well, the WTO Ruled in Favor of Boeing, But Bloomberg's Take Was Surprising

September 12, 2009

Boeing, U.S. Seen Winning WTO Case on European Aid to Airbus | www.bloomberg.com

So this story is already a week old, but crucially only three weeks into the one-month appeal time. EADS has already made the tactical error of calling this (interim) result "Only Part One", when it simply can't be -- the two cases are separate and so can't be interdependent..So what does EADS do? Appeal and underline its "Part Two" gambit or just totally ignore the reality of the huge anti-European findings and instead focus on the baloney of trying to "talk it out"? Talk, remember, is cheap.

China takes off, it is rapidly taking over as we squander our brand names for ?

September 11, 2009

China’s Geely, Beijing Automotive Target Volvo, Saab | www.bloomberg.com

It is a known fact that the Chinese government has put its weight and tremendous wealth behind targeted industries, Electronics , automotive and aerospace and it is well on its way to target the general industrial market. It is succeeding and have taken over Japan in Electronics manufacturing out put...why ? they have the people, the natural resources, the cash and the market..and we in the West are willing to surrender all ,including established brands as Volvo ,Saab and Hummer.

Temporary lay-offs in Italy maybe OK,but plant closure ..guess what

September 10, 2009

Italian Government Reaches Union Agreement on Fiat’s CNH Plant | www.bloomberg.com

Italian Labor law is so inflexible about layoffs and forget the future of the plant in Imola if it invovles permanent closure. Italy, behind Spain , is one of the most socialistic countries when it come to labor law giving no flexibility whatsoever to industry in manoeuvering during difficult times, that is while Fiat CEO is scanning the globe and is in bed with Chrysler , not only for high cost production , but also for labor inflexibility.

Outsourcing is the trend ..do not cry wolf

September 8, 2009

Defense industry pleads for investment | www.ft.com

To my best of my knowledge the UK defense spending in 2010 is projected to be up by a few percentage points and so as the EU and Nato..so what is the fuss all about..outsourcing? then they have to cry endlessly as this has been the trend for a long time in the world of the defense industry, but perhaps a novelty in Britain.
