Hepcidine is a key regulator of iron balence. Despite the availability of some iron makers (ferritin, sideremia and transferrin), hepcidine dosage can aid in the interpretation of complex clinical cases. However, its use could be limited to very particular clinical cases.

Lenalidomide is recently proving that its potential is not limited to myeloma, but can be used also in other B-cell malignancy settings such as lymphoma and CLL. CLL, in particular, needs light and yet efficacious treatments, particularly in the setting of pretreated (at times heavily) patients.

Biological efficacy has been shown for a number of cancer vaccines. Clinical efficacy has been shown in few of them. Clinical benefit just in one: idiotype vaccine for B-cell lymphoma. TroVax still has to clear the last hurdle, and likely also the second one.
