Despite the recent comments about recovery and "green shoots" the evidence would still indicate that we have some distance to travel before the building material industry returns to the levels of volumes enjoyed in the period circa 2004-2007 pre the market crash.Strong performance in the RMI and Infrastructure markets will help offset weak demand in the other sectors.

Alternative Energy is expensive today and needs serious attention. New standards to be enforced by the federal government could create the alternative energy industry, require alternative energy to be present at new and renovated commercial and residential dwellings, where it is economically viable. New dwellings, warehouses need to be equipped with some form of alterntative energy to begin with.

Today's condition of the production of ethanol looks as it is not cost effective. Ethanol itself has some problems in the process of combustion in the internal combustion engine (ICE). But this is today. When the ethanol producers start providing market with desireable volumes of the fuel, the situation will be improved. Needless to say the USA and the rest of the world urgently need new sources of energy.
