An interesting article and an interesting concept. I'm not an expert on US retail or consumer preferences but I have a good grasp on how I, and most UK consumers, would react to this, and it wouldn't be positive. Ads on the shelf edge when you have already more than likely decided what you want to buy. And will there be ads by the chocolate and crisps at kids eyeline height I wonder? That'll go down well with parents.....

Following hot on the heels of the timetable announced for GUS's demerger of Experian and ARG comes it's half yearly results - with a downbeat view on UK retail in general, and a very downbeat view on the DIY sector, echoing B+Q's sentiments of a few weeks ago. Indications are that UK Retail is still struggling with DIY very much down in the doldrums in this key pre-Easter period

It seems that numbers of firms are interested in India. From what I understand the issues to further development in India are exactly what GE R/E is seeking to invest their dollars in, namely, water, power and sanitation. At the same time GE will invest in other opportunities such as Hotels or Retail Centers, etc.
