Economic slowdown for network vendors
Analysis of: Cisco Signals Trouble Ahead | money.cnn.com
Author: Cliff McElroy, President, Datec, Inc.
I will agree, that a collapse is overkill. But I see a softening of transactions and more projects help up at CFO level and because companies can't hire, and retain talent efficiently. Analysis of: Riverbed Shares Jump on Upbeat Note | biz.yahoo.com
Author: Bill Yassinger, Networking and Security Solutions Manager , Incentra Solutions, Inc.
WAN optimization may not be considered a luxury when customers have no choice but to add it to their infrastructure when bandwidth options are limited and response times have eroded.  Adding more bandwidth or server power does not solve all latency and performance issues, and optimization...

Finally, simplicity in wireless plans via Verizon
Analysis of: Verizon Wireless Introduces New Unlimited Plans That Are as Worry Free as the Guarantee | biz.yahoo.com
Author: GLG Expert Contributor
I was wondering when the wireless industry would mature to the point that a company would put forth unlimited access and standardize on a flat-rate. It will be easier for the consumer without having to continually stay on top of their cell phone usage and getting pounded on their bill if they go over...

VMware is still a great product
Analysis of: Wall Street scores VMware's Q4 results an error | www.computerworld.com
Author: GLG Expert Contributor
Sometimes I wonder if Wall Street really understands technology. The financial expectation from my perspective was too high. When you have an 88% increase in revenue from one year to the next and your stock takes a major hit is troubling to me. And yes, VMware is going to lower there forecast for this...

Don't take this personally
Analysis of: IP Addresses Are Personal Data, E.U. Regulator Says | www.washingtonpost.com
Author: GLG Expert Contributor

I liken IP addresses to phone numbers or home addresses. This is not personal information because it does not follow...

Analysis of: Dell offers another Ubuntu Linux laptop | www.computerworld.com
Author: GLG Expert Contributor
It is good to see a major manufacturer put out alternatives to Microsoft.  I know that Linux can and will run on Dell HW and has for a while but it is nice to see the option to get a computer in the first place with a different OS.
