This technique may have implications as an alternative to lasers or Thermage treatments. Heating tissues with can cause shrinkage, much like meat does on a griddle. The key is heating deeper tissues but not burning the skin or melting the underlying fat.

The hump may have the appearance of having gone but in reality the nose is now larger as the lower areas have been raised. Removing the material is difficult so make sure the patient understands what the downside is.
