The iPhone has troubles.  Frankly, it is not a surprise.  Further, the iPhone is not alone.

Solid-state disk drive (SSD) makers are trying to break into small-capacity markets such as small laptops and enterprise servers.  There are too many manufacturers and they face significant issues to complete with magnetic hard disk drives (HDDs).

After spending years dominating the business segment, it is time for Blackberry to move out into the mass market.  

Besides consolidating the flash-memory industry, the merger will also help Samsung's foray into solid-state disk storage.

Solid state disks are catching up to hard disk drives in terms of performance, capacity, and cost.  In what ways are they ahead and behind, and will they catch up?  If and when they do catch up, the storage industry will undergo major changes.

I have openly supported femtocell technology for sometime.  I think the technology’s ability to support residential and small business wireless local area networks was always attractive.  I think the technology’s inherent intelligent base station design gives carriers greater flexibility.

No one should be surprised by slowing smart phone or any handset sales.  We are in a recession.  Once telecom, an infrastructure business, begins to feel the pinch, then you know we are in trouble.

Christy’s departure is another sign of the changes ahead for Alcatel-Lucent.  The ride is going to get worse from here on.

Well this may work.  However, it is all dependent on the cooperation of the carriers.  Then again there is the question of spectrum speculation.

Liberty Media is a bit more than a tracking stock.  The company is a content owner and creator.  In other words, Liberty Media is a content company. Spinning off the entertainment business is a natural next step.
