Erbitux (ImClone):1 month and <10% additional survival in lung cancer. Not very impressive!

Basically?? It's a bust until we see subset analysis. It is possible adenocarcinomas as well as non smokers will show better survival

Glaxo's Promacta Hits a Snag with the FDA

Apparently, the FDA was not impressed enough with the data for Promacta (eltrombopag) for the treatment of ITP, a common and potentially serious auto-immune bleeding disorder involving platelets.  Citing a lack of "robust evidence" from several studies, the FDA will be seeking further opinions...

Genentech, Schering-Plough,,Avant Immunotherapeutics. & Pfizer all helping with "brain cancer" therapy.

     While no slam dunk cures are noted, drugs such as Avastin (Genentech), Temodar (Schering-Plough) &  Avant/Pfizer  vaccines  are making an impact on  "Brain Cancer"  survival.

" Conclusions: Cetuximab does not appear to add to treatment efficacy when combined with gemcitabine and docetaxel in advanced NSCLC. A high rate of severe cetuximab HSRs necessitated trial closure at our Nashville site." Not very promising.
