Analysis of: Patients Curb Prescription Spending | online.wsj.com
Author: GLG Expert Contributor
Given the economic pressures on patients, they are now more likely to ask for generic medications than they were in the past. Given that there are generic versions of several classes of medications, physicians such as me are more likely to comply with a patient's request for a generic than in...

Outsourcing of compassionate use of drugs?
Analysis of: No right to experimental drugs for dying patients: Supreme Court | news.yahoo.com
Author: Dan Streja, Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles
The Supreme Court has rejected the use of experimental drugs by the dying patients on the grounds that "The framers (of the US constitution) understood that the pursuit of life is an inalienable right that should not be abridged without due process of law." Over the years our patients with terminal...

The reality that the actual details of the ENHANCE have not been circulated and that alternate explanations or caveats may be raised is probably unimportant. The bottom line carries the day and the bottom line is that the trial's title, ENHANCE, was not achieved by the addition of VYTORIN when...

By restoring function in the late Na channel and hence improving diastolic function (amongst other things), Ranexa has worked terrifically in my patients with any evidence for diastolic dysfunction. This typically manifests with shortness of breath and can be associated with an elevated level...
