Conventional economic trend fitting cannot anticipate changes in market direction. It always over or under shoots. Logistic substitution, on the other hand, does anticipate changes in direction and has accurately forecast the share of oil in primary energy markets.

Reuters reported in the august 16 issue of the International Herald Tribune that OPEC cut its forecast of global crude oil demand for the fifth month. Production is more than adequate.
