Cloud Computing: Anything as a Service

Cloud computing is simple in concept, but difficult in market adaptation. Current marketable solutions are niche capabilities, largely focused on B2B transaction capabilities. Adoption by corporate IT organizations will require (1) mission-critical capabilities, develop sophistication similar to enterprise applications; and (3) an additional 5-8 years to be phased into production.

Cloud computing will increase productivity, reduce technology burdens, and improve cash flows as monthly subscriptions/utility services.  While we are at the forefront of a new technology generation, SaaS/cloud computing will evolve and as it does, client installed software, locally stored data and the burdens associated with them will go the way of the dodo.
