Unlike voice, web content load on the network is unpredictable. A given cell phone has at most one call link and a standard relative load. Web content can stream on an unlimited number of connections for a give phone.

Yes, ATT was not prepared for the iPhone. Yes, it's causing a vocal minority some problems. However, this isn't news. People that use crappy cheap phones don't really complain because they bought crappy, cheap phones.
