Wyoming... the next out-sourcing frontier
Analysis of:
Forget India; Call Centers Boom in Caribbean | abcnews.go.com
This analysis is solely the work of the author. It has not been edited or endorsed by GLG.
Implications: 1) Forget India; Caribbean; Russia... Call Centers will Boom in small towns within the United States. 2) We are already seeing the peek of offshore out-sourcing. We have clients that have even capitalized and managed the offshore operation to make things more seamless. 3) Plenty of our clients have commissioned buildings to become global call centers in Arizona and Wyoming.
Analysis: As business goes... cost goes up. Many of the faraway lands of the past decade which were so cost effective then... have been spoiled by their own success. They too have become inflated.
The cost of running an offshore call center anywhere in the world has become much more costlier and competitive.
Since the field test of the decade long process of offshore call centers is now at hand... we review the metrics and find the cost are difficult to manage (especially currency and compliance fluctuations) and customer satisfaction declines.
We are seeing a reversal. Call centers are being established right back in the US - small towns (coupled with advanced technologies) which need the lifeblood of the cash flow and employment are bidding with all sorts of incentives.
