Analysis
Unless Apple does something very dramatic with the rumored tablet I don't see it going any further than Apple TV. As this article points out who needs it.
Two factors we will have to view. If the tablet is tied to the Apple TV as a means of viewing content it will have a slight chance. Sort of Harry Potter carrying around your TV screen in your hand. Back to the article as a Sc-Fi gadjet. This would help two products the tablet itself and the Apple TV that has never gotten off the ground.
But if the other rumor is true that the tablet will be tied to a provider such as the iPhone is to ATT, and the tablet to Verizon. Count me out. Why? First the final cost of the tablet will approach $2000 by the time I add in the monthly connection data fee. I am sure except for a few most people are not going to be willing to spend that kind of money just for a slick gadjet. I have owned most of what Apple has made over the years and I must admit I have paid a lot more for the convience of their products, but the Apple greed factor is the reason I have not purchased an iPhone and would not get a Tablet.
What I need and I am sure many of you also need is a Netbook size to take on the road with a sort of real keyboard to work on so that I don't have to carry a notebook. If Apple has to be different they will continue to play to the small group of got to have the latest to impress my friends and not those willing to pay a little extra for a better product.
