What could they be thinking?

Implications: Take gaming away from the Native Americans and just what are their prospects? It's been a bonanza for large portion of tribes and the communities they are surrounded by.  It's hard to believe that someone or some groups, that may have never set foot on a reservation, think they can tell the tribes what may best for their people.

Analysis: The tribal council for each individual tribe has the obligation to keep their traditions alive. It's their teachings that help tribal members protect their heritage. Legalized gaming has not one thing to do with the rise or fall of these traditions.

Mr. Hills and Dr. Clark certainly have bad vibes concerning gaming on tribal lands. Just what did they think was happening on these reservations prior to legal gaming to allow the people to seek out a living. There was very little for them to do and thats being kind. I have been there and have seen the lands and people suffering over time. If gaming didn't come along these Tribal Nations would be on the rolls of the unemployed. So, where is the hurt? It certainly can't be blamed on gaming  as all it's done is put a heck of a lot of people to work, increased income, allowed better housing, gave medical insurance and 401K retirement plans, education and a slew of other benefits to numerous to mention. What are Hills and Clarks suggestions for the development of the tribes. Zero, nada, nothing !

The tribes need to take a vigorous stand against these so called do gooders who really don't have a clue. I am not against speaking out or letting your feelings be known, however when facts are not stated correctly or bent just enough to make a point it's time to stand up to these verbal bullies.

Our government, in their infinite wisdom, has chosen to make the land owned by Native American a sovereign entity. It's time we back off and allow them to think for themselves, They seem to be making a success of their projects and have also been helping out the tribes that do not have gaming on their lands. They seem to be getting it right - they need their space - lets rely on their judgement as to how they administer to their own people.

It can't be a bad business - Gaming has afforded the builders, investment groups and major casino companies a splendid opportunity to combine forces with the Native Tribes - it does not hurt anyone - it only helps - It's time for these "put downers" to wake up and get in the real world. Good things are happening so why not get on the band wagon? Why would investment and financial groups allow funding if it was not a terrific and sound way to do business? These are the top people in the lending world, they must know something or why would they indulge ...........
