Summary

There is no doubt that a great deal of time, efforts and resources have gone into trying to find a solution to the healthcare problems and concerns that we deal with today. What is not as clear to those who really need these problems solved are the answers thus far. A lot of very smart people seem to have forgotten the actual value of a person. What ever numbers show up on the balance sheet hardly provides any direction to those who care more about dollars and cents than common sense.

Analysis

The fact that many people today put off going to the doctor until they have, to should be a wake up call for those on capitol hill. People wait until their bodies go from a whisper of sickness to a scream of you better do something, because they know it's going to cost more that they can afford even if they have some kind of health insurance.

When the subject of Healthcare Reform come up, we normally think about the uninsured but it's clear that the real problem may be the underinsured, and that number is rising.

In a 2005 Harvard University study of more than 1,700 bankruptcies across the county, researchers found that medical problems were behind 50% of them, and three-quarters of those bankrupt people actually had health insurance. No one is safe.
