Summary
The way WMT is going about this, is a high risk to their exsisting customer base and business. It also has a strong chance of backfiring internally in their company. It is an important issue to evaluate, far more than a commercial on TV. They would be far better off improving their assortments in their core catagories by building on their strengths vrsus trying to upscale their weaknesses and follow Target. Internally, this is currently a confused organization and is in great need of specific stategies and direction.
