Implications: - Video consumption is very different to that of Audio
- Mutliple audio devices already exist which can play the same digital download
- Audio has single ubiquitous codec (MP3) whereas on the video front multiple codecs exist
- The rental model has always existed for video
Analysis: Video consumption is very different to that of Audio - most of us are likely to watch a movie once after buying a DVD but would play a CD several times after purchase
Mutliple audio devices already exist which can play the same digital download - hence lossening up the DRM works in favour of the consumer
MP3 is a recognised standard for audio playback - whereas on the video front multiple codecs exist
The rental model has always existed for video - but not so for audio. downloading just adds convenience to the rental model
