Topical "Botox"--Sounds Like a Winner
Analysis: The cosmetic market place has been in flux over the past few years. The big player, Allergan, is the sole producer of Botox in the United States and thus has a corner on the market place. They also have a very popular injectable hyaluronic acid product, Juviderm, which competes directly with Restylane from Medicis. By acquiring this company, Medicis can try to level the playing field with Allergan. Also, if a topical Botulinum Toxin proves to be effective, it may revolutionize the industry. I also think this will benefit the patient financially since Allergan will no longer have a monopoly.
