Summary

Collaboration between the two giants, HP and Oracle , can shake the storage world which is due to double digit growth in the next three years. It can be a win-win situation based on both companies' reputation and strengths. on top of that, both companies are not new to the storage world's needs and can even set the trends in this huge market.

Analysis

Oracle with its long range vision and excellent ability to handle mergers, acquisitions and collaboration, and HP - a giant in computing needs can really set the market trends of the storage arena.
Based on powerful processors, suitable management software and aggressive marketing capabilities can bring the new behemoth to a larger market share.
More than that, the collaboration between both companies can bring to other initiatives in related markets as hardware and software companies get closer.
HP, that knew how to swallow Compaq, and Oracle with more than 40 acquisitions will base the new collaboration on their vast experience in the markets they operate in, to gain benefits for both.
Due to the likely high probability of success in this collaboration, I see a different storage market in three years time. Competitors should take this initiative into consideration and maybe form new alliances to have the right answer on time in this growing market.
