Summary

Some Very smart people made a killing on Shanta Biotech while others were chasing goats.

Panacea is more diversified than Shanta Bio tech - Now taken over by Sanofi - Aventis for close to $600 million.

It has everything that Shanta had and more.

It has contracts with UNICEF, WHO and other leading agencies for vaccines.

Has fairly good market share in Immunosuppressants & oncology.

The next big bang is most likely to be heard from Panacea, currently much under valued compared to its peers.

Analysis

The Biotech Story is just begining when compared to Indian Generic story.

In Generic business Indian companies have "Been there Done That"

While in Botech & Bio Similars they are just about finding their feet.

Panacea has had a head start in this race when compared to some of its well established peers.

They already have manufacturing facilities in place with all required approvals.

They have on going business with leading world agencies.

A fairly good market share in Oncology & Immunosuppresants.

What they is lack is some attention from Investors.

I wont be surprised if we hear some major Investment banker or fund pick's up a stake in near future.
