Implications: A new revenue stream for the wireless operators. Text messaging holds great promise. The leading Democratic campaigns have launched this door for two way communication.
Analysis: While mass text messages (like spam) have not become widely accepted like person to person text messages, the Democratic presidential campaigns have launched this application.
For the hardcore supporters, this unprecedented two-way communication is way to get up-to-the-minute updates and be ahead of the rest.
For today, the mainstream will still rely on the standard email however this is the future and the wireless operators of course will be behind this initiative all the way since it opens the door for yet another revenue source.
The only barrier is to ensure that this is a part of a comprehensive plan and not just for politics. Once that occurs, this will indeed open the doors to yet another way to get information into our hands quicker, faster and better.
