TOLD YOU SO!
Analysis of:
What Blackstone Bet Means for Real Estate Investors | online.wsj.com
This analysis is solely the work of the author. It has not been edited or endorsed by GLG.
Implications: Blackstone is buying up REITs. REIT prices going up. Yawwwnn.
Analysis: Hate to say "I told you so " but - I told you so. As I predicted in my analysis on 10/6/06 entitled HEDGE FUNDS TO GOBBLE UP REITs, the total value of all public REITs is approximately $500 billion. The hedge funds have raised over $1.3 trillion in the past year and are having trouble finding places to invest these funds.
I predicted there would be a frenzy of REIT acquisitions by the hedge funds as they woke up to the cash flows available.
It has started. Enough said.
