Synergy is becoming more apparent at Symantec

Implications: This article illustrates the direction Symantec is heading with their foray into the storage market.

Analysis: Many of us in the reseller community were scratching our heads when we first learned of the Symantec/Veritas merger.  In fact, some of us still find this a difficult marriage to understand.

This announcement detailing the new release of Backup Exec helps us understand where the two technologies meet.  Similar to Enterprise Vault (the first product I personally became aware of that showed synergy), this new release of Backup Exec is focused on storage management for email.
