Symantec's aquisition of Vontu has given it the opportunity to demonstrate that it can provide both application and data security solutions. Since Symantec is already entrenched in both the corporate and consumer markets they are well positioned to be successful in this emerging market. Their corporate agreements will allow them to upsell this new capability into both markets if they can show thought leadership in this area as well as transparent and capable solutions.
