Analysis

Corporations should get out in front of these events. I’m sure you are seeing and hearing the news re: swine flu deaths in Mexico and infected persons in the US as well. (81 deaths). Gerson’s pandemic/communicable illness plan has been triggered. There is human to human transmission of H1N1 (not H5N1).  Travel policies should be immediately followed, with appropriate restrictions for Mexico, South America and border states.  I expect stocks to drop next week. Supply chains will be disrupted. This outbreak is expanding.

This calls for elevated awareness among us all. Fortunately, the H1N1 cases in the US diagnosed so far appear to respond to anti-virals. Regrettably, the flu vaccine given this year is not effective.

The WHO is in session now trying to make a decision as to whether they will move from an alert level 3 to a 5, or even higher.  The actions that WHO and CDC represent acknowledgement of a pandemic without declaring one. Political pressure is being applied.

Firestorm is scheduling a webinar with one of our Expert Council members Dr. Steve Cunnion who discovered SARS. We are monitoring closely.

We have developed a communicable illness guide that we use to train employees on communicable illness. With some tailoring for Gerson, it will serve as a guide for  employees. I have included the Table of Contents below.
