Implications: The recently announced collaboartion between Stiefel and Allergan in regards to Tazorac is very positive. Stiefel needs this molecule to put into different dosage forms, and in combination with its existing products espoecially Duac, etc. Their current acne product line is strong, but this will solodify their position with an excellent retinoid, Tazorac. Allergan also benefits as they have not really done much with this molecule, and any line extensions will only benefit them without any capital outlay.

Analysis: Both Allergan and Stiefel will benefit in that Allergan will get line extensions of Tazorac without much expense, and Stiefel can use this patented drug in multiple dosage forms like foams, and in combination with its other acne products like Duac, etc.
