Summary
New product that only requires 2 application days over an area. May be useful. Typical source for a product like this, coming from a plant extract. Considering that 5-flourouracil has several variations, but all have predictable reactions that need minimally a few weeks to heal, it is worth looking at.
I think that it is a small error in not mentioning the healing process from the therapy.
Analysis
The defining clinical characteristic is how long there is any reaction of erythema, scaling, inflammation and how severe this reaction is. Using many of the products, dermatologists have to figure out how to pulse it and use it adjunctively for some cosmetic tolerability. We use quite a bit of Solaraze with good results. The fact that this product is applied only 2 days is very different, so demonstrates some promise for use in the normal setting.
My practice is near the beach and is very active in treatment of skin carcinomas and preventing skin carcinomas. When I use enough of one chemical treatment for AK's, the other companies come bounding in. It needs to heal quickly and/or minimally.
At this time, there is a cost factor as well.
