Summary
To my best of my knowledge the UK defense spending in 2010 is projected to be up by a few percentage points and so as the EU and Nato..so what is the fuss all about..outsourcing? then they have to cry endlessly as this has been the trend for a long time in the world of the defense industry,but perhaps a novelty in Britain.
Analysis
The aerospace/defense segment has pioneered outsourcing for sometime now ,especially in the US , and is way ahead of the industrial segment in these endeavors...the business model of verticals is gone forever and will never return in the modern and progressive manufacturing and systems integration world. Outsourcing is a broad word with many dimensions...the differentiation is to eliminate the vertically integrated manufacturing business model in favor of commercially available systems and components..if these subsystems are available in Britain so be it, if not they will be outsource from other parts of the world...it is a global economy mate and the out source is there like it or not.
