Summary
What's the rush to publicly announce this? Probably not a good move on the station's part.
Analysis
You would think the powers that be would at least take a waut and see position. NBC didn't just wake up and decide to put Leno on at 10. Understandably many station managers are less than thrilled but realize the importance of their affiliation with NBC. These seame station managers have enjoyed NBC's "Must See TV" for a number of years but realize Appointment TV is a thing of the past. ER just aired it's final episode with ratings 10-25% of what other long running franchises experienced in their final episodes. We all have to turn the page and deal with realities of today's hihly fragmented viewing marketplace. Is Mr. Ansin "smart" in his decision, only time willt ell. Is he also looking at economies of scale by amortizing 10:00 Late News costs over two stations, of course. So, looks like a double standard, doesn't it?
I'm sure Jeff Zucker won't lose too much sleep over this, he'll find another "outlet" in Boston for Leno.
