NF KappaB decoy technology innovative in inflammatory skin diseases
Analysis of:
Meyer Pharmaceuticals Acquires NF-kappaB Decoy Technology For Treatment Of Inflammatory Disease | www.medicalnewstoday.com
This analysis is solely the work of the author. It has not been edited or endorsed by GLG.
Implications: Meyer Pharmaceutical acquisition of a NF-kB decoy is interesting in that this would be the first new technology in this area since the topical immunomodulators like Protopic/ Elidel were released. The preliminary work looks good, and phase 2 trials in both atopic dermatitis and psoriasis would be necessary to render a complete opinion. Corgentech Inc. had a similar technology, but no recent work has been done by them .
Analysis: This will have a significant impact on all companies that make products for atopic dermatitis and psoriasis like Galderma, Skin Medica, Stiefel, Medicis, etc. The effect would be profound if the phase 2 results show significantly positive results.
