Implications: Having just recently purchase an additional 45 acres will just add more fuel to Stations fire. They seem to have so much going on, one would wonder if they can keep their efforts properly directed. It seem that the new partnership of the Fertitta brothers (Stations Casinos) and Colony Capital has started to move. They have not let any grass grow under their corporate feet.

Analysis: It was suggested in some local circles that Stations would first complete construction on Aliante Stations and Durango Stations both just off I-215. These two new properties will be on the same travel freeway as their now existing Redrock Stations. Durango and Redrock will be within a few miles of each other and Aliante is about eight mile past Redrock as traffic approaches I-15. It will certainly keep this gaming corridor within the capable hands of Stations Casinos.

The new land is located on Las Vegas Blvd. It is, however, considered by most not to have that strip location feel. The property will be located a few miles south of the South Point and about three miles south of the new property being built by Anthony Marnell, Jr. Stations will have the best of it since they are going to front a new planned community. They will also be the first big property that drivers from Los Angeles will see as they approach Las vegas on I-15N. This might be the property that the Fertittas wanted when they built the Redrock. A hotel that would cater to locals and the tourist trade would be a good fit for them in the future. Since strip property is for all intents and purposes is non existent - the land available at this time is south of Mandalay Bay.

I am happy to see that the new partnership has not taken any backward steps and are going in the direction they said they would. It can only enhance their position in the Las Vegas gaming market........
