Melafind Phase three implications
Analysis of:
Digital Diagnosis: New Tool for Detecting Skin Cancer | www.ehponline.org
This analysis is solely the work of the author. It has not been edited or endorsed by GLG.
Implications: If Melafinds phase three study results are positive then physicians will in general be receptive. The only issues are: 1. Ease of use/time to scan 2. Ability for non physician personnel to be trained to use the technology. 3. cost 4. Insurance reimbursement The technology may have more use at larger skin cancer centers, but individual busy physicians will also use it. Thgis will make diagnosis more precise and aid in treatment and monitoring of high risk patients.
Analysis: If the phase 3 results are positive for Melafind then this wills spur sales of the product with the following caveats:
1. the machine must be easy to use, and non physician personnel must be able to be trained to use it.
2. it must be cost effective with good insurance reimbursement.
This technology is overdue.
