LOOKS LIKE COLUMBIA SUSSEX IS HEADING FOR ROCK BOTTOM
Analysis of:
LICENSE REVOKED - TROPICANA DENIED BY NEW JERSEY PANEL | www.lvrj.com
This analysis is solely the work of the author. It has not been edited or endorsed by GLG.
Implications: The major implication is that Columbia Sussex has lost the Tropicana in Atlantic City. They also have The Tropicana in Las Vegas plus more properties in Nevada. They could possibly be in jeopardy of losing just a bit more if they don't learn the gaming business and real quick....
Analysis: What could senior management of Columbia Sussex be thinking? They have done everything in their power to destroy some of their most prestigious properties. The thought of AC Gaming Commission revoking their license to operate is down right stupid for this gaming company. If they did not know how to operate in a large arena, there are plenty of very capable people they could have solicited for help. Mr Bill Yung, the head honcho for CS needs to lighten up and take a good look at just what he is doing to these properties - not to mention the reputation of Columbia Sussex. It's a sign that the people making the decisions are not in tune with the gaming industry. The Las Vegas Tropicana reputation is all but in the toilet. That is with patrons, employees and management staff.
The Nevada Gaming Commission say that they have found no immediate problems with the properties in Nevada. They now will take a serious interest into CS properties. Speaking of the Las Vegas properties, CS has said that they are looking for money from investor types to help finance the building of an 8000 room new Tropicana in LV. They must be kidding - who in their right mind would lend money to a company that can't run a property in Atlantic City and has lost their license to boot. They need to take a long hard look at they way they are trying to operate casinos. It seems they are clueless.......
I don't know where they might be headed but it's a very real problem for all concerned.......
