Summary
Its about time.
Its also a prudent move.
Analysis
Interestingly enough this happens as Congress changes hands and the idea of negotiating drug prices surfaces. I am not sure its a good thing but certainly is a step in the direction of halting the dangerous outlay of funds from public funded research only to be capitalized by huge profits in the name of research costs.
It certainly is time to demand that publicly funded research have some valid oversite and a continued demand for a common working file of all research that is done with public funds or tax dollars.
These research facilities need to begin to realize that the need for their research is formulated with tax dollars and should be shared for ultimate results. When a drug gets approved its time to repay the tax dollars that were spent to get the ultimate result. The latter seems to have been forgotten by all involved.
The advertisement on television is clearly showing the desperate need for their existence and the costs only rise when a company tries to go directly to the public . Vince DeStigter
