With so much emphasis on changing the health insurance system, the far greater need to change the delivery and financing of care has gotten relatively little mention, at least in the sound bites where most people receiving their daily news. We should not squander this once in a lifetime change for real health care, and not just health insurance reform.

"So how to do we change the incentives in our health care system from more care to better care? That, in a nutshell, is the heart of true heatlh care reform. Yet it has not b een the focus of the debate in Washington.
The debate has to focus more on controlling costs. Without that emphasis, expanding coverage to 95% of individuals (the average of the two compromise bills in the House and Senate to be formally introduced next week for official floor debate), the health care system will surely bankrupt the public and private economy in the next few decades.
Companies focused on helping to identify and promulgate best practices resulting in more cost effective, superior value care include:

4. Accenture; and
5. IBM.
